Alaska Cruise - Day 1 and 2

Howdy folks!

Greetings from Ketchikan, Alaska! We pulled into port a couple of hours ago, and I figured I'd take this opportunity to share some photos from the first couple days of our cruise!

**EDIT: I'm re-arranging all the cruise photos in our Photobucket gallery, so the slide-shows that were embedded in these posts have been disabled. To see the photos, visit

A new slide-show will be embedded in the most recent post, at the top of the page, once the re-arranging is done.

We sailed from Seattle at about 4:30, and this is the first port-of-call we've docked at. We'll be leaving here in a couple of hours, and then it's back at sea until tomorrow morning when we dock in Juneau.

It's really hard to encapsulate the past couple of days... they've been very restful, full of laughs, naps, great food, and good people. Oh, the people! We've met so many interesting folks from all over the country... and the fact that we're stuck on a boat with each other for the next week just helps to nudge us into starting conversations.

There were several weddings on board yesterday - in fact we had lunch with a couple of newly-weds. The ship is filled with families who are out to have a good time - kids are running around and playing, parents are finding ways to have a little decompression time while the kids are occupied, and everyone seems to have one big "agenda" on their minds - fun and relaxation.

We'll try to post more photos when we dock in Juneau tomorrow... for now, I hope you're all doing well! We'll see you when we get back!
